On May 3, 2011, voters in the Port Huron Area School District approved the bond proposal to support your school district. During the Spring and Summer of 2012, the community will see the culmination of the planning phases for the bond projects turned into action. Classroom and building renovations at PHHS and all of the Elementary Schools will begin with the plan to have everything ready for opening day of school in Fall 2012.
This program is the culmination of an extensive effort over the past four years involving a cross section of community members and staff who volunteered their time to review and propose recommendations regarding facility needs. We thank them for their time and efforts.
Quite simply, the students who enter the doors of our schools deserve to have excellent educational environments. Proceeds from this bond proposal will be used in ways that benefit our students every day.
As stated before, none of the bond funding will go toward paying the salary of any school employee. The law does not allow it. Every dime of this bond proposal will go into the facilities our students use throughout the year.
Exciting times are ahead for the students and stakeholders of the Port Huron Area School District. Know that on a daily basis the staff of PHASD is focused on the goal of providing the best education for the students of this community.
Thank you,
H.R. Wollen
Superintendent of Schools
Port Huron Area School District
